Since                               and                                  For

"since" and "for" werden benutzt, um auszudrücken, seit wann eine Handlung oder ein Zustand andauert. Auf Deutsch wird aber nicht wie im Englischen zwischen "since" und "for" unterschieden. Deswegen ist die Verwendung von "since" und "for" schwierig.

"since" wird benutzt, wenn man einen Zeitpunkt angibt, seit dem eine Handlung oder ein Zustand andauert.

since October
since 13:15
since yesterday

ACHTUNG: Since und For werden im Englischen immer mit dem Present Perfect verbunden.

I have lived in Nordhorn for two years. (Ich lebe seit zwei Jahren in Nordhorn.)

I have watched TV since 13:15.

 "for" wird benutzt, wenn man eine Zeitspanne / einen Zeitraum angibt, seit dem eine Handlung oder ein Zustand andauert.
